Kannapolis Real Estate has been the primary real estate agency in Kannapolis for the past 47 years. Along with selling homes, they manage property and build subdivisions and custom homes. As the business has grown and opportunities increased so has the need to streamline the property management function. DHinnant created a customized property management system that tracks all aspects of the function from security deposits to taxes and produces invoices and reports. dHinnant technicians entered and tested all the data, and provide ongoing technical and staff support for the property management system and their computer network.

Price Marketing is a representative for five manufacturers. dHinnant moved their warehouse and designed and installed a new computer network and phone system. dHinnant also developed software that manages each line in a virtual warehouse with specific minimums and maximums to generate instant orders, invoices, and reports.

Whitley's Funeral Home began a facility expansion in 2006 that moved them from one building that housed all of their operations and services to three. With the addition of a separate administrative building and an annex chapel, dHinnant Business Solutions created a campus network burying fiber optic and 25 pair copper phone cable to link the three buildings together. dHinnant moved Whitley's computers and set-up the network in the administrative office and linked it to the main patch panel, the hub of the multi-purpose, campus network. The network makes it possible for Whitleys staff to access computers, phones, printers, faxes, and the Internet from any building. dHinnant designed, installed, and provides ongoing support to maintain and update the campus network.

With over 400 services annually, Whitleys Funeral Home decided in 2006 to expand their facility to include an annex chapel. The new chapel dedicated to William L. Whitley, Sr. includes a chapel area, two viewing rooms, a kitchen, outside courtyard, and a state-of-the-art audio-visual system. dHinnant designed, installed, trained Whitleys staff, and provides ongoing support for their audio-visual systems.

The Whitley family took advantage of Bose professional grade equipment, of which dHinnant is an authorized dealer in North and South Carolina, to improve the sound quality of their services. The sound system included speakers, amplifiers, and microphones connected in a central control panel to DVD/CD players and recorders.

The control panel is hidden in a custom constructed roll top desk stationed in the back of the new chapel. It allows sound to be played throughout the building or for different music to be played in each viewing room. With the control panel, all facets of a service can be queued ahead of time for ease of operation.

A desktop computer is also part of the audio-visual system as a source to download music and to run the projection equipment that allows presentations and DVD tributes to be included in services. The projection system includes a screen with a silent motor that can descend or retract at the flip of a switch without interrupting the service in progress.

Once the annex chapel opened in 2007, the Whitley's began upgrading the sound system in their main chapel to create excellent audio-visual capabilities throughout their facility.

The Village at Kellswater Bridge is a 400-acre mixed use development in Kannapolis, NC. Centrally located just minutes from downtown Kannapolis and the North Carolina Research and I-85 and downtown Charlotte, Kellswater offers the luxury of custom homes with the convenience of a recreation center, walking trails, and town center with retail and office space.

Developers George and Jane Kiser and Don Wagstaff were one of the first to introduce this high-end, mixed use concept to Kannapolis. The response has been phenomenal. Hundreds of visitors a week view their website, model home village, and sales center. To keep up with demand, they soon required an upgrade of their existing technology and computer system.

dHinnant created a client-server network with a custom-built server that included a mirrored hard drive and tape back-up for added security. Two new computers with the latest technology available were bought for the owners. The remaining staff computers were upgraded to XP Pro to enable them to be linked to the client-server network. dHinnant reconfigured the firewall to make it more secure and compatible with client server network.

To capitalize on the launch of a new website, the developers of The Village at Kellswater Bridge decided to add touchscreen sales points at four locations. They chose a 19-inch, self-contained, touchscreen unit, which looks similar to laptop. In places like a model home and the developments Manor House, visitors comfortably take a virtual tour of Kellswater Bridge to learn about the many amenities and custom builders.

dHinnant introduced Kellswater's developers to the touchscreens through an onsite demonstration. Once they units were purchased, dHinnant handled the installation and programming needed to activate the units as sales points.

Asia Apparel manufactures and imports apparel from Thailand for distribution to major retailers through their Charlotte offices and warehouse. dHinnant designed and installed their computer and phone systems. We developed customized warehouse inventory management system to streamline tracking, ordering, and shipping of product to customers. Because the needs of retailers vary, we built in the ability to pick and pack small to large orders. We also implemented and manage Quick Books financial software and negotiated specialized lines of credit for the company. We continue to serve the company as a member of the management team in charge of operations and finances.
